We all understand that the pilgrims probably couldn't have survived without the American natives' help, but it's also interesting to remember the turkeys' selfless gesture. It isn't just any animal that is so enthusiastic about being eaten that it's willing to don the chef's hat and cook itself. All hail the turkey! Perhaps it is man's best friend.
