Here's another simply fabulous example of Christmas packaging, courtesy of Cost Plus. Everything about this package was splendid, except for the fact that a piece of foam padding was under the chocolate bars, creating the illusion that you were getting twice as much candy as you did.
Also, the chocolate was rather forgettable, which is somewhat unforgiveable for European chocolate. It would seem as though the European manufacturers took the attitude that Americans wouldn't know a good piece of chocolate if they sat on it, so they sent mediocre chocolate in a gilded tin for all of us to give out as holiday gifts. Again, I wound up just throwing out the candy, but it was still worth it to get this tin and the wrappers.
